Toonesia

A 1995 winner in Infocom’s Interactive Fiction Competition, Toonesia flips cartoon logic on its head in a wild parody of classic animation — play as Elmo Fuld and outwit your rabbit nemesis in a world of slapstick, puzzles, and absurdity.

Description

Dive into cartoon chaos in Toonesia, a playful parody of classic 2-D animation that landed 2nd place in First Annual Interactive Fiction Competition (1995) under the TADS division.

You are Elmo Fuld — a hapless cartoon hunter whose rabbit target got the jump on you, blindfolded you, and left you stranded in a bizarre cell with only a stub of crayon, a blindfold, and a note.

From here, you’ll tumble through a world built on Acme-style logic, ragdoll physics, and surreal puzzles. One moment you’re in a desert mesa, the next you’re bop-ping through a cartoon studio — everything and nothing makes sense, and that’s exactly the point.

With a wink to the Warner Bros. era and text-adventure spirit, Toonesia invites you to laugh, puzzle, and escape… before dinner.
